The W+ Standard is a first-of-a-kind global, independently verifiable framework for quantifying women’s empowerment outcomes in community projects. CSS partnered with Social Finance International, Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, and British Asian Trust to conduct a W+ Market Assessment, exploring how women’s empowerment outcomes can be measured, integrated, and monetised across developing economies. The assessment highlights the growing role of impact credits, including W+ credits that deliver verified gains in gender impact while sharing revenue directly with local women’s groups. These can be sold standalone or bundled to carbon credits, getting more money back to vulnerable women.
